Antique Japanese Shakudo FUCHI / Floral, Nanako - Sword Fitting (5J12)

Description

Antique Shakudo Sword-Hilt Collar fuchi (collar at the base of the grip of the sword hilt. Dating to the 19th Century or earlier. Beautiful repeated floral motif that resembles fleur de lis (Lily design) with a finely stippled ground (Nanako pattern or fish roe ground). The antique Japanese Sword fitting is of mixed metals Shakudo, copper, bronze, gold alloy, gold inlay. In very good condition. Inside has an engraved X at one end. Measures 1 7/8” inches long. Has good heft. Please see photos for measurements. The photographs were taken in natural lighting show the Antique Japanese Fuchi well. (5J12)
