Beautiful Old Japanese Tsuba w Monkey for Sword

You are bidding on a wonderful old 3" tall x 3" wide Japanese tsuba ( iron ? ) that has been mounted to a wooden stand ( total measurement is 3 7/8" tall x 3 1/2" wide x 1 1/2" deep ).  This piece is in very good shape with a fair amount of gold remaining on the monkey.
