If you're looking at this, you probably know more about it than I do.
I have been told from an ebay member that this is a Wire Wound Power Resistor designed to demonstrate the conversion of electricity into heat.
I have not tested it so it is sold 'as is' for display purposes only.
There is a label that reads:
Central scientific Co. Laboratory supplies apparatus chemicals CENCO Chicago U.S.A
Please look at pictures,
Picture from the underside show ceramic beads along the wires inside.
The black frame is about 9" long, about 10.5" if you measure the electric leeds on the ends.
It is about 3.5" high, and 3" wide. It's heavy feels like it's made of cast iron.
Again I really have no idea what the heck this thing is, so it's sold AS-IS.
