Chrysa passed away in peace. She was only 34 and leading up to her death was anything but peaceful. But her final moments were and that is what matters.
Chrysa was a military wife. She struggled with being alone for months and years at a time. She always wanted children but was unable to conceive. While her husband was a good man, he put his work first. This did not make her life easy as when they first met, she was the apple of his eye.
One day, when her husband was home from deployment, she felt a pain in her chest. She didn't tell him as he was sleeping. She wanted the days when he was home to be as peaceful as possible. So, she went to the doctor and she was told she had congenital heart disease. She refused help or to be admitted for testing. She knew this would upset her husband. All she wanted was for him to be happy.
Fast-forward another year and she was on her deathbed. Alone. Her husband was overseas again and she was struggling to breathe her chest hurt so badly. She decided to make a call to tell him goodbye. She told him what was wrong and he apologized profusely. He told her he wished she would have told him. He would have opted for a base job--anything so he could be near.
For the first time in many years, Chrysa felt a peace in her heart. And a few minutes later she drew her final breath. Chrysa now wants to give you that peace. The peace that comes from having someone you know you can count on.
