RARE UK DOG ART CIGARETTE / TOBACCO / TRADE CARD, COLLECTIBLE, UK. Original 1923 One of a Series of 50 Pure Bred Dog Paintings (artist unknown), issued by R.J. Lea Ltd, Stockport, England, with Chairman Cigarettes. Each card is sold individually, Very Good or better condition, with minor edge wear, possible minor soil due to age and handling, minor rounding of corners, but overall very good condition with no creases. Artwork of the dogs is horizontal in format unless otherwise noted, and is pictured - note that card pictured IS the card for sale!! A full body art study in a landscape, reverse side of all cards printed with breed details. Artwork is absolutely of framable quality, one of the finest canine artists of the time, and cards from this set, in such amazing condition, may not be seen again, and are NOT to be found elsewhere on eBay!! Cards from this set are extremely rare, and these are the only ones to be found on eBay in years!! Size of the card is 2.65" wide by 1.4" high. Artwork with a fine black border is 2.5" wide x 1.275" high.
This Auction is for ONE card, Bloodhound ONLY!! Card # 23 in the Series. "Bloodhound" A long and narrow head, with a noble and dignified expression. Deeply sunk eyes varying in colour. Long, thin and soft ears, large open nostrils, long neck, muscular shoulders. Colours, black and tan, red and tan and tawny, interspersed with lighter or badger-coloured hair. Heights from 23" to 27". WEight froim about 90 lbs to 110 lbs.

Condition Grading (Worldwide!) is typically as follows:
Mint: Almost as good as new; entirely un-blemished.
Excellent: As good as could be expected: cards clean with a minimum of damage, sharp corners and edges.
V. Good: Slight damage only. Corners not creased but may have slightly rounded corners, some light soiling possible especially to end cards.
Good: Some damage or soiling, includes corner damage, damage from adhesive backs, grubby backs.
Fair: Card may be damaged by creases, folds, crack or dirty mark.
Poor: Card with a number of the above faults.
