Nikola Tesla
(1856 – 1943) was perhaps the greatest “outside-the-box” inventor of all time.  The AC current that is powering your computer, and everything else, was thought up by Tesla in mid-sentence during a speech.  He conceived of it entirely in an instant.  The famous “Tesla Coil” literally produced lightning.  Other experiments produced “earthquakes”.  He was really without an equal.  While Edison worked tirelessly through trial and error, Tesla’s genius was brilliant, and he worked through marvelous “inspirations” that in some respects have not been equaled again, even today.
The Philadelphia Experiment, subject of a movie some years back, was a real top-secret  experiment that the US government conducted after WW2.  It apparently resulted in an entire battleship “disappearing” (some say it was “transported”), with many sailors injured in the process.  Tesla was the man behind the whole thing.  Some have also credited the famous Tunguska explosion in Siberia to Tesla.  The forces unleashed are beyond what we’re told they have to this day.  It was after this that Tesla became more “humble” perhaps of the forces he was dealing with.  He was probably grateful that more people weren’t killed, but whatever it was, it was well beyond the power of a nuclear bomb, decades before Hiroshima.
